The company Pfeil was founded in 1902 as a fabricator of cutting tools. Professional cutting tools and surgical instruments were primarily the first items which pfeil manufactured. Production of the first carving tools began in 1942. All pfeil tools are sharpened and honed, ready to use, rasor-sharp. Chrome vanadium steel, special alloy made to pfeil specifications. Blades electronically hardened to exacting tolerances. Tempered to RC 59-61, depending on purpose tool.
